Origins of Rickettdom

I'm pretty sure anyone, including those who actually know what's going on with the Adam Rickett on a Stick scene, are wondering exactly what spurred on 4 friends to create such monstrosities.
Well, even I don't know, but hell, I'll have a damn good try at summing up what happen with it all! So here goes, the story of Adam Rickett on a stick from start to.. well.. now!

The crew's unhealthy "obsession" with Adam Rickett started in early 2007, while each of us were Gosforth High School's 6th Form/year 12. After much procrastination of work and then much laughing at what a flop Adam Rickett has been in not only TV, Music and Channel 4's The Games, Heather M suggested Adam Rickett on Ice on the offchance while talking about the local Ice Rink.. oh, what a bad idea it was.
Within one night, the first poster was created, printed and given to Heather M the next day, and much joy began. Within the week the second and third posters were made, then the fourth, and so on. Every image used, including the not-actually-never-to-be-trademarked Adam Rickett floating head™, were found with the wonder of Google, and they still are. It's tricky finding fitting images to use for bad posters sometimes, but Google always pulls through, whether it's through image search, web search, or just plain crazy luck.

From the craziness of posters, edits, and general Rickettness, came many other things; Adam Rickett's MySpace, Adam Rickett's Facebook, and indeed, this site. As well as this, there have been many ridiculous injokes (as to be expected), including *shudder* - Adam Rickett pants, t-shirts, and much other disturbing memorabilia. None of it official, mind you. Obviously.

But even with disturbing memorabilia, memories and indeed, Photoshop edits, Adam is very much serious business! Between the crew, talks of Adam Rickett day and even Adam Rickett Land were heard, and plans are underway.. not that we'll ever be able to, y'know, launch a day dedicated to a failed soap star gone MP gone soap star, or an entire theme park, but hell we'll die trying.

But for the meantime, posters and edits and all that greatness continue, until Adam finally gets that day and theme park.

Thou Breathst Again

But as well as all of the stupidity, the edits, the laughter.. Heather M has seen the light. While it all began as a joke, Heather M now believes; Adam Rickett is the way, and the light. His songs have touched her in a way she has never felt before; in a way no other gay icon has. She has grasped Thou Breathst Again as her faith, fully endorsing and believing in the Good Times Adam brings to life.

Even in her times of need, Adam comes to her rescue, as a big gay saviour in the sky.

Breathst.. and God bless.

Disclaimer

Adam Rickett on a Stick is a non-profit project. Not surprisingly, I don't own Adam Rickett, nor do I own any of the other "participants" in posters/edits, nor lyrics, song titles, references, etc. It's all a bit of harmless, recreational, Photoshopped fun.
Don't kill me..!
